Meet Twix!

Introducing Twix, a gorgeously soft German Shepherd mix who is looking for a loving forever home where his natural protective instincts will be understood.

Twix is a well-rounded, happy boy who loves hard. He loves to play and snuggle with his humans, so a fenced in yard is a must for him! He is great in the car and loves to go on adventures.

Twix would love a home with someone who will play with him and walk him daily. He is a smart boy who knows “sit”, “off”, and his name. He’s working on learning “stay” too! Twix walks beautifully on leash, stopping when his humans stop, and enjoying the sniffs of new places.

True to his GSD breed, Twix has strong protective instincts. We are looking for a forever home where his protective instincts will be understood and his humans are well-versed in GSD protective behaviour. What does this protectiveness look like? He feels protective when his humans are approached by strangers, particularly tall, imposing males, and he doesn’t do well with high traffic homes. His foster mom, who understands his protective nature and watches his body language carefully, takes him out to rodeo events and markets and he loves it.

Twix loves other dogs, but he doesn’t always enjoy sharing his home with them, so we’re looking for a home where Twix can soak up the attention as an only dog. We wouldn’t recommend that he share a home with cats, since he isn’t quite sure if they are friends or food.

Twix is around 8 months old and weighs 50lbs. This sweet boy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for his forever! Twix is crate trained and completely potty trained too.

This boy is the sweetest, he’s smart yet calm, playful yet snuggly, and endlessly loyal and protective.

Twix is being fostered in Austin, TX and is adoptable throughout Texas and Northeastern states.
