Meet Toby!

Meet Toby the gentle giant! Toby is a 9-year-old, 100lbs Anatolian Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his fluff. Toby was dumped by his “family” but his faith and love for humans remains untarnished. He’s ready to settle into a loving, forever home where he can enjoy his golden years.

Toby’s calm, gentle temperament is instantly endearing. He’s affectionate with both kids and adults, and his favourite place to be is where his humans are. He’s not one for high-energy activities; instead, he’d much prefer a leisurely stroll or a cozy nap in the sun.

Toby’s easy-going nature makes him a perfect match for a quieter household where he can relax, unwind, and be a beloved companion. While Toby may be on the lower end of the energy spectrum, he’s still got a playful spirit! You might catch him trotting around with a favourite toy or gently nudging you for some ear scratches and cuddles. Toby’s ideal environment would include a soft, comfortable bed, a fenced in yard for sunbathing, and lots of gentle affection.

Being a senior boy, Toby’s adopters will need to be aware that he may have some extra medical needs. He receives pain management for arthritis in his hips, so a home with few stairs is essential. He’s potty trained and doesn’t require a crate (because he really just naps when alone).

If you’re looking for a mellow, affectionate companion who’s happiest napping and receiving lovings, Toby is your guy. His gentle demeanour and old-soul charm make him a wonderful match for a home that values the simple joys of companionship. And his little old-man zoomies will bring you endless joy.

Apply to adopt Toby today and let him fill your life with love and loyalty! Toby is being fostered in Lakeway, TX and is available for adoption in throughout Texas and Northeastern states.

*And, if you’d be open to it, Toby was dumped with his “brother”, Max, 10-year-old Yorkie, who is also adoptable. While they do fine while apart (we tested it!), they do care for each other, and we’d love to see them go to a forever home together, if possible!
