Meet Tamale!

Meet Tamale, a 10-pound, 18-month-old Chihuahua with a heart as big as his ears and a whole lot of love to give—once he feels safe.

This sweet boy has come a long way from a tough start, and he’s blossoming into a playful, affectionate pup with the help of his foster dog siblings (who he adores). Tamale’s ideal day involves romping with his furry pals, sneaking treats, and curling up for a cozy nap in a quiet spot.

While Tamale is still learning that new people aren’t so scary, his food motivation makes training a breeze. He’s potty trained, gets along well with other dogs, and is making steady progress learning to be calmer around cats (he currently finds them a little too exciting). He is doing amazingly with leash training and would benefit from continued exposure to the world!

Tamale thrives with patient, calm humans who understand shy or underconfident dogs. He just needs someone to help him see the world is full of kindness and treats.

Tamale is being fostered in Austin, TX and is adoptable throughout Texas and Northeastern states.
