Meet Stitch!

Meet Stitch! This black beauty has the lean muscular body of a champion and adorable puppy-dog eyes that melt hearts everywhere he goes!

Stitch is a gentle, affectionate boy who loves the outdoors, his daily walks, and water. Whether you want to hit the trails or hop in the pool, Stitch will make a loyal companion for a single person or the whole family. He happily plays chase with kiddos and other dogs alike and then snuggles up on his dog bed (or yours if permitted) and his favourite bone. Stitch loves all of his doggie siblings and plays well with dogs of all sizes, from 5 pounds to 70. As a young puppy, he was cat friendly, and we think he’ll do well with cats in a new home.

Stitch is a 7-month-old Rottweiler * Labrador mix who weighs 45lbs. He has a very athletic build, but he is not intense. For his age, he’s exceptionally calm, quiet, and low maintenance at home. When his foster mom is out, Stitch is trusted to go in and out through the dog door as he pleases and doesn’t get himself into mischief. He’s the perfect blend of companion and independent. He’ll come for snuggles with his humans but then find himself a comfy spot nearby for a snooze. He knows his name and will gladly trot over for pets and neck scratches.

He is smart and highly food motivated so he learns new skills quickly. He has good recall and happily sits for a treat, runs to his crate, and is doing very well with leash training. He has learned to walk by bicycles, people, deer and other dogs. He is learning to ignore those enticing lizards that dart out in front of him.

Stitch has been fostered in a house with a securely fenced yard and enjoys the freedom of being outside when the weather is nice and going inside to cool off. He is potty trained and knows how to use the doggie door. He does wonderfully in the crate (both when left alone and sleeping through the night).
