Meet Shadow!

Shadow is a gentle, quirky little Velcro dog who lives for one thing above all else: being close to his person. He’s incredibly affectionate and happiest curled up right next to you on the couch, quietly soaking up pets and praise. While he can be enticed to play, Shadow is much more of a cuddler than a rowdy pup. At 6 years old and weighs 17 lbs, Shadow is the perfectly sized companion. And his quirky Pomeranian * Pug breed mix will just make you love him more!

He does wonderfully with other calm, non-reactive dogs and would likely do just fine with a cat as well. On walks, Shadow is relaxed and nonreactive, content to stroll by your side and mind his own business—even children can comfortably walk him on leash. He’s polite with new people, greeting them calmly if he chooses, and overall has excellent manners in the home.

Shadow is thriving with routine and consistency. Shadow’s forever home must not restrict his access to the couch; he lived for too long in a horrible state in a backyard breeder situation and he deserves luxury in his forever home. He loves chew toys and does best when he always has appropriate toys available (otherwise he’ll get a little creative). He’s currently recovering from heartworm treatment and is otherwise healthy.

He’s doing great with crate training, sleeps soundly through the night, and settles well when left alone. While he's being crate trained and doing better every day, he will cry in the mornings to let you know when he needs to go potty in the morning. He is potty trained aside from marking, this would likely not be an issue in a home without other dogs. He would prefer a home without young kiddos and lots of activity since he finds loud noises to be a little scary.

With his adorable underbite, quiet personality, and intense “you’re my favourite person” stare, Shadow has a way of making you feel truly chosen. His ideal home is an easy-going one with lots of couch access, dedicated toys, and humans who enjoy a loyal shadow following them from room to room. If you’re looking for a well-mannered, deeply loving companion, Shadow might just be your perfect match.
