Meet Sabrina!

Meet Sabrina — a girl who has waited long enough for forever.

Sabrina is a 3-year-old, 55-pound Pit Bull with an enormous capacity for love. She absolutely adores her people and makes sure they know it! Sabrina loves giving hugs, getting belly rubs, soaking up the sunshine, and settling in with a good bone to chew. She’s food motivated, potty trained, good with other dogs, and has a nice medium energy level. More than anything, though, Sabrina LOVES love. After everything this girl has been through, being close to her people seems to mean the world to her.

Sabrina’s road to finding a permanent home has been an unusually long one. Before entering foster care, she was a long-term resident at the Providence animal shelter. We were told that prior to arriving there, Sabrina had lived with a man experiencing homelessness and spent most or all of her time confined to a crate. Eventually, Sabrina got what seemed like her happy ending: she was adopted and spent about a year living with a family, children, and three other dogs.

Then, in April 2026, tragedy struck when the family’s home burned down. Sabrina’s family initially hoped they would be able to bring her home again, but after learning it could take as long as two years before they could return to their house, they made the heartbreaking decision to surrender her. Because everyone had been holding onto the hope that Sabrina could eventually go back home, she has now spent approximately six months displaced and waiting for her future to become clear.

Now Sabrina finally has the chance to move forward, and we would love nothing more than to see this girl find the stability she deserves. She has already experienced a shelter stay, found a family, lost her home through circumstances completely beyond her control, and spent months in limbo. Sabrina needs someone ready to make her a permanent part of their family. She has so much affection to give and is more than ready to trade uncertainty for sunny afternoons, belly rubs, bones, hugs, and a home where she can finally stay.

Sabrina has previously lived with children, but because she can be jumpy and loves to give enthusiastic hugs, it would be best if her next home does not have young kiddos. She does well with other dogs and her compatibility with cats is currently unknown.

Sabrina is being fostered in Warren, Rhode Island, and is available for adoption in Northeastern states.
