Meet Murphy!

Meet Murphy, the sweetest boy you could ever hope to meet!

Murphy is a certified cupcake sweetie pie. Like a typical Golden Retriever, he’s a goofball with a true heart of gold.  He has never met a human, another dog, or a treato that he didn’t LOVE. Seriously, he even loves the vet.

Murphy loves to play with toys. He doesn’t discriminate based on shape, material or size. A toy is a toy. And all toys are LOVE. He even walks around the house carrying them in his mouth. And teases his doggie friends with them to try and encourage them to play!

Murphy likes to people watch from the window of his foster home. He loves to be outdoors, sunning himself in the yard or playing with his toys. Mostly, he loves to be around his people. He gets excited about going in the car and for walks. He gets excited to stand on the scale at the vet! He gets excited to meet new people and dogs. He’s just walking sunshine, in truth. We adore him for it.

Murphy is a 2-year-old Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix who currently weighs around 53lbs. He is potty trained and stays in his crate when left alone. He sleeps either with his foster parents or in his crate, and always through the night! He also walks well on a leash, but don’t blame him for being a little excited for walkies!

While in our care, Murphy has been diagnosed with Evan’s Syndrome. In short, this is an autoimmune disorder which affects his blood. Murphy has responded extremely well to treatment and has been gradually reducing his meds since his initial diagnosis. The vet who has been treating him for months would love to continue to support his care and is happy to speak to any potential adopters about his medical history. When first diagnosed, Murphy was noticeably low on energy and in bad shape, but with treatment, he’s bounced back to being his energetic, playful, loving (and even sometimes mischievous) self and we are positive that he will live a long and healthy life, as long as his adopters are tuned into his health.
