Meet Mabel!
Mabel is a sweet 16-week-old girl, currently 15lbs, who’s believed to be Shepherd x Husky x Pittie mix.
Mabel and Bunny, named after the show Only Murders in the Building, didn’t have the easiest start, arriving in Austin underweight alongside their thin mama. With love and good care, they’ve transformed into healthy, joyful, soft-furred puppies who adore people, other dogs, and even horses. They’re happy, gentle, easy to train, and ready to bring so much love into their forever homes.
Personality: Mabel is a gentle, sweet-natured puppy who starts out a little shy but warms up beautifully with just a moment of reassurance. Once she feels comfortable, she blossoms into a loving, playful, energetic little adventurer who keeps right up with her sister. My husband describes her as kind, loving, and energetic — a perfect summary of her gentle spirit. Like Bunny, Mabel makes the cutest “ahooo” yawns and has a soft, expressive personality that wins you over instantly. She’s great with dogs, respectful around horses, and may grow a touch bigger than her sister since she has slightly larger paws. Like her sister, her fur is incredibly soft.
Training: Mabel has been impressively easy to train. She had only one potty accident during her first week in foster care and has been reliable ever since. She sleeps soundly in her crate from 10pm–7am without barking or accidents, making her an ideal puppy for someone who appreciates a good night’s sleep. She’s learning “sit,” practicing leash walking, and already has strong recall. Mabel responds especially well to gentle encouragement and structure, and she gains confidence every day.
Habits: She’s a big fan of cuddles once she feels secure. She loves playing, wrestling, and nibbling on Bunny’s toes, a sisterly pastime that never fails to entertain. Mabel is a quiet copilot during car rides and enjoys being near her humans, watching what they’re doing with curiosity and excitement. Once she trusts you, she becomes a happy-go-lucky puppy who is always ready for fun or snuggles. And will follow you everywhere.
Vet History: Mabel is fully vaccinated, dewormed, and current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. She arrived underweight but has made fantastic progress, growing steadily stronger and healthier. She’s ready to thrive in a forever home that will give her the love she’s been waiting for. Mabel is being fostered in Dripping Springs, TX and is adoptable throughout Texas and Northeastern states.
