Meet Jake!

Jake is a handsome Flat-Coated Retriever mix who’s smart, sweet, and silly—and he’s ready to find his forever family! This bright boy already knows sit, paw, other paw, high-five, and “wait” at mealtime. He is very treat-motivated, making training easy and fun, and he is not food aggressive at all.

Jake gets along wonderfully with other dogs and loves doing zoomies in the yard with a canine buddy… or a human one! After playtime, he’s always up for cuddles on the couch and quiet companionship.

He’s a playful guy who entertains himself with bones and toys—especially ones he can toss into the air and retrieve over and over again. Jake has a lovely balance of energy: sometimes he’s a snuggly couch potato, and other times he’s eager for a long neighborhood stroll. On walks, he’s easily redirected even when he spots squirrels or bunnies.

He enjoys the company of other dogs, but he would also be perfectly happy as an only dog, soaking up all the attention.

This boy is 1.5 years old and weighs 52lbs. He is fully house trained, walks nicely on a leash, and is learning to stop and wait at intersections before crossing. He can be trusted free-roaming in the home for hours without any destruction and makes an excellent work-from-home office buddy.

Jake doesn’t mind baths, basic grooming, or car rides. And his soulful brown eyes? They’ll melt your heart. His gaze says, “Thank you for saving me,” and he means it with his whole being.
