Introducing Elfie, a perfectly adorable little warrior whose strong spirit and feisty personality make him a uniquely lovable dog!

Elfie is a 1.5-year-old chihuahua/terrier mix who weighs a teeny 6lbs fully grown. Elfie was found suffering from pneumonia and with wounds from being attacked by another dog. Despite this, Elfie is outgoing, loving, and up for anything! He’s our little warrior.

Elfie LOVES toys and LOVES his person. Give him these 2 things and he’ll be happy forever! He is always content to be wherever his people are, he follows his foster mom around her house like a little shadow. He loves to go everywhere with his foster mom, from coffee shops to running errands, so it’s helpful that he also absolutely loves car rides. His foster mom says that when she takes him on errands, he loves to be carried like a stuffed animal!

Elfie is the perfect lap dog and work from home buddy. He sleeps for most of the day by his foster mom’s work desk. He isn’t high energy or demanding, preferring the quiet, snuggly life. And if he does need to get his energy out, he’ll happily occupy himself with his plushies. He sometimes gets excited at bedtime and will do a quick bedtime zoomie around his foster mom’s bedroom before they turn in for the night. Elfie is used to sleeping in his foster mom’s bed, snuggled up under the blankets, so we hope to find him a forever home where he has that same privilege.

Elfie shares his foster home with 4 other dogs. He likes other dogs, except from the in-his-face puppy (who he does NOT like!), but he truly prefers the company of his humans. He can be protective of his human if he thinks that another dog is bothering them, rushing to their aid, all 6lbs of him!

Elfie loves his short walks, strutting along with the confidence that only a 6lbs chihuahua/terrier mix could have! He loves the yard at his foster home, but be warned, he’ll find cracks in your fence to squeeze through if it’s not secure! Elfie is potty trained but doesn’t like to be crated or to be left home alone for long.

Elfie has a typical chihuahua/terrier feisty streak, so we’d love to find him a forever home with breed experience. He is stubborn and doesn’t like to be told no. When his foster mom tells him not to do something, he barks and air snaps, showing off his sassy personality. But don’t fear, he’d never actually harm his person, he loves them too much! He just has ATTITUDE.
