Meet Chispa!

Meet Chispa! Chispa’s name means “spark” in Spanish, and it couldn’t be more fitting. This bright, curious pup brings a little burst of joy everywhere she goes. Along with her sparkly personality, Chispa has adorable cattle-dog freckles and eye patches and spots that give her a look as unique as her personality.

Chispa is a playful, affectionate puppy who loves her daily walks and thrives with routine and engagement. For a dog who had never been on a leash until just a couple of weeks ago, she’s doing wonderfully—she enjoys walks, is gaining confidence each day, and has already picked up some impressive manners. She’s learned to sit patiently by the door before heading out for walks or into the backyard, showing just how observant and eager to learn she is.

She’s very treat-motivated, eager to please, and soaking up training like a sponge. At just six months old, Chispa is still very much a puppy, but she has a great foundation and truly benefits from playtime, enrichment, and positive reinforcement. She has taken to crate training quickly and does well settling in her crate, which has been a big part of her progress so far.

Chispa, as many puppies her age, is working on potty training. She has already come a long way and continues to improve with consistency and structure. With continued routine and patience, she’s expected to keep making great strides in her forever home.

She has done well around other dogs and enjoys playing appropriately. She has also been in the presence of a house cat, she was curious but respectful and did not initiate interaction, suggesting she may do well with continued slow introductions.

Chispa is estimated to be around 6 months old, weighs 21 pounds, and is believed to be a Cattle Dog / Australian Shepherd mix (an educated guess, not guaranteed). She’s at a wonderful age to continue learning, bonding, and growing into an amazing companion.

This sweet girl is full of potential and heart. With her sparkly personality, growing confidence, and love of walks and play, Chispa will make a joyful addition to a family ready to continue her training journey and celebrate all her wins, big and small.

Chispa is currently being fostered in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and is available for adoption in Texas and Northeastern states.
