Meet Carmen, a uniquely gorgeous, shy girl who is looking for a loving forever home!

Carmen is a petite, 2.5-year-old Labrador * Weimaraner mix who weighs 40lbs. She is a very sweet natured girl who seeks lovings and likes to be near her humans once she gets over her initial shyness. Carmen is a low maintenance girlie who just wants to enjoy life after having a very rough first year on the streets.

Carmen is initially shy takes a little time to get used to a new household and new routines, but she is blooming as she learns that humans are kind and loving. Carmen bonds strongly with her people when they take her for leashed walks and she is also food motivated, so we are looking for a forever home where adopters are willing to take time to bond with her in the way that suits her best.

Carmen gets along well with other dogs, as long as they are not in her face, and happily lived with 9 other dogs in her first foster home. She walks perfectly on leash and has a gentle presence, and you won’t need to worry about mischievous behaviour or her chewing on your things!

Carmen thrives in lower energy environments, since she does startle with sudden movements and loud sounds. She would be the perfect choice for a calm household and adults who adore her. She also does well with gentle kiddos, including her foster parent’s 11-year-old grandson, but we would prefer to find her a home without kiddos under 10 years old due to her shy nature. Once she is comfortable, she will approach you for some pats and then curl up and relax. She appreciates a nice, slower paced life, with plenty of relaxation, walks and chill time.

Carmen is being fostered in Round Rock, TX and is adoptable in Texas and Northeastern States.
