Meet Bentley!
Introducing Bentley! Bentley is a 7½-month-old, 18lb Border Collie/Aussie mix who’s the perfect blend of playful, affectionate, and calm. This sweet and soulful pup has a heart full of love and a personality that shines.
Bentley is fully potty trained and has never had a single accident in his crate. He sleeps peacefully through the night from 9:30 PM to 8:00 AM in his crate, downstairs in his foster home. He usually settles in after a few quiet minutes—especially with a quick cuddle or treat to remind him he’s safe and loved.
Having been abandoned at a young age, Bentley does have mild separation anxiety, but it’s nothing unmanageable. With a consistent routine, a secure home, and a loving family by his side, he’s already improving and will continue to blossom. For this reason, we’d love to see Bentley adopted into a home where someone is home more often than not.
Bentley is incredibly affectionate and melts into your lap the moment you start petting him. He loves belly rubs, attention, and being close to his people. He’s also wonderful with kids—gentle, sweet, and patient—making him a great choice for families.
In addition to being loving, Bentley is very intelligent and picks up on things quickly. He’s already learned basic commands like sit and stay with ease, and his food motivation makes training a breeze. He’s still getting used to leash walking and building his confidence on walks, so his adopters should be prepared to continue working with him in this area. With a little consistency, he’ll grow into the best walking and hiking buddy you could ask for.
Currently being fostered with dogs of all sizes, Bentley gets along well with everyone, but he especially enjoys playing and roughhousing with pups closer to his own size. He’d thrive with a playful, similarly sized doggy sibling. While Bentley would prefer a home without feline friends, he’d also do just fine as a spoiled only dog—as long as he gets plenty of love and attention from his family.
Bentley has the perfect balance of energy and calm. He enjoys backyard play sessions, then settles down for some quiet time with a chew toy or cozy nap on the couch. During the day, he’s a dream work-from-home buddy, happily napping under the desk at your feet.
If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and well-mannered companion who just wants to love and be loved, Bentley is your boy. He’s ready to find his forever family—could it be yours?
Bentley is being fostered in Connecticut and is adoptable throughout the New England states.
